Virginia Doane Becomes Bride Of Lt. Thesier
SHOREHAM — Before an altar decorated with white and red carnations in St. Genevieve’s Church, Miss Virginia Rita Doane and Lt. Wilbur Donald Thesier exchanged vows Saturday afternoon.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Matot and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Katherine Thesier of Carthage N.Y. and the late Leo Thesier.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length peau de soie empire gown trimmed with embroidered lace and detachable train. A cap of net lace and sequins held her three-tiered nylon veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of red roses and white carnations.
Miss Deborah Fortier of Burlington, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor.
Best man for his brother was Paul Thesier. Ushers were Robert Doane, brother of the bride, and Grant Thesier, brother of the bridegroom.
Jerry and John Brisson were altar boys.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
Mrs. Thesier was graduated from Shoreham High School and Champlain College and has been a secretary at IBM Corp., Essex Jnction. Her husband was graduated from Augustonian Academy and Rochester Institute of Technology. He is stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio.
The couple will live at 209 Galewood Drive, New Carlisle, Ohio.
