Bertha Dunn

BIG MOOSE — Bertha Dunn, 92, of Big Moose died Friday at Eastern Star Home, Oriskany.

A native of Newton Falls, Mrs. Dunn also lived in Old Forge. She and husband, Walter,  operated Dunn’s Lodge in Big Moose. He died in 1970, and two sons, Walter “Bud” and George “Joe,” also died before her. Mrs. Dunn also operated the mail boat in Big Moose and Old Forge.

Mrs. Dunn was a member of Big Moose Community Chapel, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Jolly Moosers.

Surviving are a sister, Genevieve Laughlin of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Eastern Star Home, the Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Riverview Cemetery, Old Forge.

There will be no calling  hours.

Friedel, Williams, Coriale & Edmunds Funeral Home, Whitesboro, has charge of arrangements.
