Erwin G. Paro

DEKALB JUNCTION -Erwin Paro, 75, of 48 County Route died Monday, January 10, 2005 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.

Mr. Paro owned and operated Paro’s Surge Sales and Service in the town of DeKalb from 1983 to 2002.

He was a member of the DeKalb-Hermon Senior Citizens Club, St. Henry’s Catholic Church and Grasse Pond Hunting Club.

Born Jan. 21, 1929, in the town of Hermon, son of Guy and Alma Matthews Paro, he married Barbara Jean Matthews on Nov. 26, 1949, at St. James Church, Gouverneur. Mrs. Paro died May 23, 2002.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Gary and Karen, Hermon; two daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Leon French, Marcy, and Debbie and Donald Baker, Richville; two brothers and their wives, Robert and Donna, Delphi Falls, and Ernest and Sammie, Clovis, N.M.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Genevieve Hamilton and Leona Clark, both of Gouverneur, Elaine and Thomas Barr, Quayle, N.M., and Inez and Louis Salati, Cicero; a companion, Marguerite Hall, Gouverneur; 11 grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Arlene Kimball and Edith VanSant, died before him.

The funeral will be at 10a.m. Thursday at Allen-Denesha Funeral Home with lay minister Floyd Powell officiating. Burial will be in Hermon Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
