Obituary of Paul Tessier

In loving memory of Mr. Paul Arthur Tessier, who passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the age of 83.

A dedicated family man, Paul will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Dorothy (nee Aitchison); his children Mark (Francine), Doug (Carolyn), Larry, and Janie; his grandchildren Liane, Elizabeth, Patrick, Rebecca, Jessica and Jordan; and his great grandchildren Taylor, Tylor, Trevor, Tinsley, Spencer and Gabriella.

Paul’s many accomplishments include being a Graduate of the Class of 1955 OAC Guelph, a member and chairman of the Timiskaming Board of Education, the Reeve of Elk Lake, and a volunteer musical entertainer at Northdale Manor for more than 50 years, as well as at many other facilities and venues.

As Senior Operations Technician at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Paul enjoyed a varied and diverse career with a few of many highlights being his work with the Junior Ranger Program, his work securing abandoned mining properties, and his work with the Provincial Fire Operations Team.

A talented singer, songwriter, musician, and artist, his passion for these was paralleled by his love of flying, and the creation and operation of his Federal Department of Transport licensed airport in Elk Lake.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Perrin Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 2 pm until time for the memorial service at 3 pm. Rev. Judith Visser officiating.

The family would also like to sincerely thank all those who provided such compassionate care for Paul.
