Family of 54 Fete Brunet’s 50 Anniversary
Hermon — Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brunet, Sr., celebrated their 50th anniversary Sunday at their home in West Hermon. A family breakfast and dinner were held at which all of their twelve children were present. There were 54 members of the family present in all at each meal.
Mrs. Brunet was born in Bourget, Canada March 28, 1880. Mr. Brunet was born in St. Albert, Ont., Feb 2, 1877. They were married at St. James Church in Gouverneur by Rev. M.J. Galvin on Feb. 22, 1898. For several years they lived in Fine and for the past 33 years they have lived in Hermon.
The couple has 13 children, twelve of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Albert (Cecile) Richer of Tupper Lake; Mrs. Guy (Alma) Paro, Mrs. Joseph (Marion) Roy, Miss Louise Brunet, Joseph Jr., Ernest, and Francis Brunet, all of Hermon; Mrs. Donald (Agatha) Toomey and Mrs. Wilson (Theresa) Perrin of Gouverneur; Miss Genevieve Brunet of Ogdensburg; Maurice Brunet of Gouverneur and Theodore Brunet of DeKalb Jct. There are 40 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Brument received many cards and gifts of money. A reception was held Monday evening at the West Hermon Grange Hall by their friends and relatives.
